Hi HelenJames and welcome to our community.  We are only a new forum so we haven't had a chance to discuss these things yet but you are more than welcome to offer any tips you've picked up at other sites.

Thanks again for joining us.

would love to be self suffient with everything eco friendly ... but how do you do it all in town??

we have our own little herb, chilli and tomatoe garden which is awesome.  we use 100% enviromental friendly cleaning and personal care products. (my son says thats bad chemicals mum, when we out or in the supermarket ... he understands why we use it and just thinks everyone else should too ... bless him) recycle our rubbish.

I wish i knew about cloth nappies when my son was a baby .... would of loved to use them on him.  Time we found out ... trying to get him out of them.  I tell everyone about them as think they are just great.

Just letting all my fellow NQLD'ers know about the Tots 2 Teens Expo hosted by Natural Parent and Hot Shots.  Tots 2 Teen is a parenting and family expo from pregnancy andbirth right through to adolscence.

We will have a range of local businesses and services with amazing expo specials and fantastic guest speakers.

There will also be a baby competition (Saturday) and modelling show (Sunday) run by Hot Shots photography which allows you to get a free photo of your child taken by a professional photographer just for entering + a portion of the entry fee is donated to Angelflight.

We are also organising a modern cloth nappy fashion parade at 11:30am on the Saturday where you can see a range of nappies from companies all over Australia + we have some free giveaways and a raffle from Itti Bitti to give away to a lucky person in the crowd.

Check out www.tots2teenexpo.com for all the details

Hope to see you there!

Thanks Kellie - I'm hoping that soon we will have some more visitors who might have some questions to lend your expertise towards.  In the meantime if there is ever an issue that you feel passionate about to do with natural/gentle pregnancy/birth/breastfeeding or general parenting we are always looking for articles!

Hello, my name is Kellie, I am a Defence spouse, 34 year old Mum of 4 and 2nd year Student Midwife. My eldest is Grace who is nearly 6, Eva is nearly 4 and twins Joseph and Elizabeth 2 1/2.  I'm studying a Bachelor of Midwifery at the University of South Australia and am nearly 1/2 way through my 2nd year.

I'm proud of the fact that I did things fairly natural with my children, they were all birthed drug free, breastfed and cloth nappied, which I think really helps the environment if my own litte way.

I'm deriving great joy at present from supporting pregnant women on their pregnancy journey, this would have to be the most exciting aspect of my course.  Being with woman and helping them work towards their birthing goals.

Look forward to getting to know you all better.

Cheers

Kellie
